Using Lasers To Clean Machinery

What is laser cleaning?

Laser cleaning is a dry process. It’s dust free without air borne particles or noise pollution, zero clean up, cross contamination or down time allowing maximum production hours. All organic material is vaporised and extracted without affecting or heating the substrate.

ALC incorporates German precision engineering using infrared, 100w – 1000w fiber, pulse lasers (near 1064 wavelength). This sustainable technology significantly reduces carbon emissions, saves you time and money and replaces the use of harmful chemical or other abrasive blasting options that skilled technicians find tedious to use, and battle against ever rising media costs.

Focused laser beams with high peak pulse power are used to remove contaminants in wafer thin layers.

The energy is absorbed by organic material on the surface while the non-organic substrate remains untouched.

Evaporates years of build-up in seconds without damaging the original substrate.

Laser pulses have almost no thermal effect on the surface and leaves no residue.

Laser cleaning can bring tooling and plant machinery back to their original state and maintain performance capability.

Lasers not only provide micron precision, but they have high throughput.

If warm and humid air reaches cold surfaces, condensation water is formed at certain temperatures. This condensation water can lead to faults of the electrical and optical components or even to their failure.

Therefore, for avoiding condensation water, it is required that the ambient conditions at the JETLASER are within certain limits.

In order to determine the ambient conditions, the ambient temperature and the air humidity in the environment of the JETLASER must be measured. If the required ambient conditions are not kept, a corresponding environment must be created for the JETLASER artificially (cabin, air conditioning).

The JETLASER is approved with protection class IP20, which means it must not get wet. You have to work in a dry environment, e.g. no rain.
The electrical design of the machine is executed according to the CE regulations.

Our Trusted Laser Cleaning Service Guarantee

Our precision pulse laser cleaning machines completely ablate rust, oil, grease, release agents, paint and other coatings and contaminants from machinery, tooling, mould tooling, engineered components, ferrous and non-ferrous metal surfaces. This is the only non-abrasive solution that doesn’t damage the substrate, essential to maintaining the performance capability and life span of high tolerance surfaces and components. Our laser cleaning also offers the exacting standards required for surface preparation pre and post weld cleaning and NDT inspection.

Our expert laser technicians are highly trained with the appropriate certificate of laser conformity and qualified in laser health and safety. Our unique service replaces all other applications to improve product life and lower replacement costs, by allowing equipment to be restored to its original performance capability.

ALC eliminates all cross-contamination, downtime, clean up and noise pollution, which other abrasive processes cause, without damaging or texturing the substrate. With the reduction of carbon emissions being of utmost importance, we have the most environmentally friendly system to deliver the exact standards you require to maintain and restore high-value components.
